                                                                                             Participant Waiver and Release of Liability

In exchange for participation in the activity of fishing in the Colorado Wildlife
Federation’s (CWF) Becoming an Outdoors Woman – Colorado (CWF-BOW) Fishing
Clinic at Lake Lehow (located off Waterton Road/CR-217, Littleton) on September 17, 2023, I as the undersigned Participant
(Participant) agree as follows:
1. I, as the Participant, voluntarily agree to participate in the Fishing Clinic at Lake
Lehow on September 17, 2023, sponsored by CWF.
2. I, as the Participant, state that to my knowledge I do not have COVID and have not
been exposed to COVID within the past two weeks.
3. I, as the Participant, recognize that CWF has not undertaken any duty or
responsibility for my safety. I agree to observe and obey all posted rules and warnings at
Lake Lehow and agree to follow any oral instructions or directions given by CWF and by
Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff during the program.
4. I, as the Participant, acknowledge that participation in the CWF-BOW program
involves known and unanticipated risks, which could lead to physical injury, paralysis,
death or damage to the participants and property. Risks include (but are not limited to):
dehydration, muscle strains or sprains, bone breaks, abrasions, cuts, blisters, exposure to
biting insects and the infectious diseases they may carry, exposure to poisonous plants,
sunburn, other heat related illnesses, cardiac arrest, eye and ear injuries, and trips and
falls. I understand CWF does not seek to eliminate all the risks of my activities because
some are part of adventurous sports. I agree to assume the inherent risks and all other
risks in the activities.
5. I, as the Participant, acknowledge that instructors, if any, cannot pay continuous
attention to everyone and cannot be responsible for participants’ safety at all times. I will
report to the instructors any injuries or any unsafe or dangerous situations. I also
understand that CWF is not responsible for weather, terrain, wildlife, or equipment
failure and that they may cause or contribute to an injury or property damage.
6. I, as the Participant agree, to the fullest extent allowed by law, to release CWF from
any and all claims or liabilities arising from or connected with my participation, as well
as any and all claims or liabilities arising from or connected with my use of any
equipment at the program site, Lake Lehow, where CWF-BOW activities are conducted.
I also agree to indemnify and defend CWF against all claims, damages and costs or
expenses, which may arise from my use of the Lake Lehow premises during the program.
7. I, as the Participant understand it is my responsibility to determine if I am capable of
participating in the activities safely. I certify that I have no medical condition or
restriction that prevents me from safely participating in this program.
8. I, as the Participant, give CWF permission to give or secure emergency care or other
treatment that may become necessary and agree to pay for such care. I authorize the
release of medical information to rescue or medical personnel.
9. I, as the Participant, consent to be photographed/filmed while participating in this
Fishing Clinic and for CWF to use any of such films, photographs and resulting
testimonials for any purpose, including training, advertising, catalogs, displays, media
publications including newspapers and magazines, and social media without
compensation or prior approval.
10. I, as the Participant, understand that the releases in this agreement apply to me only.
11. I, as the Participant, understand and undertake complete responsibility for all personal
equipment that I bring on this program, the damage or theft of it, any personal damage it
may cause me or others and any damage to other property owned by myself or others.
12. I, as the participant, acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily
assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID- 19 by participation in
this fishing clinic; and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury,
illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to
or infected by COVID-19 may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself
and others, including, but not limited to, CWF employees, volunteers, and program
participants. I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole
responsibility for any injury to myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury,
disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I
may experience or incur in connection with my participation in today’s fishing clinic. On
my behalf, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless CWF, its
employees, and volunteers, of and from Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions,
damages, costs or expenses arising out of or relating thereto.
13. Any legal or equitable claim that may arise from participation in the above shall be
resolved under Colorado law.

By signing below, I, as the Participant, state and confirm that I have read,
understand and consent to the terms and warnings of this Waiver and Release of
Liability.
