Through Bridges to BOW (B2B), Colorado Wildlife Federation works to find ways to bring more state residents into hunting, fishing, and sporting activities and strives to offer activities and resources to help make that possible. While the program has a focus on engaging women and young adults in sporting activities, all are welcome in this community regardless of who they are, their economic circumstances, and more.
Colorado Wildlife Federation’s Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) program has proven to be a successful way to introduce the outdoors and all its wonders to a broader Colorado audience. However, while BOW is a great learning opportunity, many communities in Colorado don’t even know that the program exists, let alone have avenues into the world of sporting. For those who may have heard of BOW, the opportunity can seem out of reach.
Registration fees, lack of experience, or the hesitancy to try something new can all serve as barriers to some residents, especially young women, wanting to gain experience in the outdoors. Bridges to BOW exists to break these barriers and serve as a bridge to more communities engaging in the outdoors.
