The Colorado state office of Bureau of Land Management has decided to seek approval from its DC Director to undertake a master leasing planning process for the public lands it manages in western La Plata and eastern Montezuma Counties. CWF is very pleased as a master leasing plan is needed to safeguard important wildlife habitat and migratory corridors. At public comment during the meeting of BLM’s Regional Advisory Council meeting in Gunnison in August, CWF cited several examples as to why it is essential.
