This summer, women from across Colorado gathered at the beautiful CSU Mountain Campus for another inspiring Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) Weekend, a signature Colorado Wildlife Federation program designed to build confidence, skills, and community in the outdoors.
Over the weekend, participants stepped outside their comfort zones and immersed themselves in hands-on workshops led by experienced instructors. Whether learning a new outdoor skill, exploring Colorado’s natural landscapes, or connecting with fellow outdoor enthusiasts, each participant had the opportunity to discover that the outdoors truly is for everyone.
One of the most rewarding aspects of BOW Weekend is the supportive community it creates. Participants encouraged one another, celebrated successes, and formed new friendships that will extend well beyond the weekend. Many arrived as beginners and left with greater confidence to continue their outdoor adventures.
We are deeply grateful to the dedicated instructors, volunteers, sponsors, and partners whose time and expertise made this event possible. Their commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive learning environment is the foundation of the Becoming an Outdoors Woman program.
A special thank you goes to CSU Mountain Campus for hosting this year’s event. The campus provided an exceptional setting for learning, exploration, and connecting with Colorado’s incredible natural resources.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for BOW Weekend 2026. We hope you left with new skills, lasting memories, and an even deeper appreciation for Colorado’s outdoors. We can’t wait to welcome both returning and first-time participants to future Becoming an Outdoors Woman programs!
