ON March 12 the President signed into law the public lands package, the John D. Dingell, Jr., Conservation, Management and Recreation Act. It includes permanent reauthorization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund. It is the largest public lands package in decades. It passed with huge support: 85% in the House and 92% in the Senate. It includes more than 100 bills, such as conserving hundreds of miles of wild and scenic rivers.
