On August 4 the President signed the Great American Outdoors Act.\u00a0 This Act had passed the House and Senate on a huge bi-partisan vote. [The House passed the Act on a\u00a0 bipartisan vote of 310-107.\u00a0 The Senate passed the bill 73-25 on June 17.]<\/p>\n

It\u00a0 fully and permanently fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund at $900 million and address deferred maintenance backlogs at national parks and other public lands. What a win for wildlife, public lands, community parks and trails. \u00a0The public demand for outdoor spaces is evident from the \u00a0robust use of Colorado’s parks and trails this year. Many organizations including CWF have worked a long time to gain full and permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund. \u00a0Over the years, LWCF has contributed more than $268 million for Colorado’s public lands, trails and community parks.<\/p>\n

It will create jobs in these difficult times and boost the outdoor recreation economy. \u00a0Senator Gardner sponsored this legislation and has worked tirelessly on it for a long time.
