On December 28, 2012, the US Senate passed the Hurricane Sandy bill. \u00a0It includes the Emergency Watershed Protection Program. \u00a0Emergency Forest Restoration Program funding in included in the bill — this would help Colorado recover from past fires, especially Waldo Canyon and High Park. \u00a0 It does not restore funding for 2013 – see companion news piece, “Senate rejects Senator Udall’s amendment to restore Wildfire Management Fund in advance of 2013.”<\/p>\n
