Our Issues Co-Chair reported this update:
Work is slated to begin in 2017 to repair habitat along stretches of the Big T. See the December 25, 2016 Loveland Reporter-Herald article by Pamela Johnson: www.reporterherald.com/ci_30684388/ci_30684388/big-t-river-rehab-begin
He noted that a friend who fished the stretch near the Waltonia bridge in late summer said he caught fish "in every hole that looked good: browns, rainbows and cutbows." So things are starting to improve!
Also, in conjunction with its community meeting in Drake November 29, Larimer County stated it plans to undertake the work needed to keep the 4 County parks that existed before the flood. Early plans had indicated an unclear future for Glade and Narrows. The County also plans to add a new area at Cedar Grove.
We will need to continue monitoring progress, as things can change.
