Students remove noxious weeds at CWF project site on South Platte River

November 5, 2012

A group of students at Metropolitan State University of Denver and employees from South Suburban Parks and Recreation removed Common Buckthorn near the Carson Nature Center on this chilly clean-up morning organized by CWF board member and professor Ashley Rust on October 5. Buckthorn is an invasive non-native plant. The purpose was to remove  this noxious weed to enable willows and other native shrubs to thrive to benefit wildlife species.
