National Wildlife Federation, through Southwick Associates, conducted an important poll of Colorado sportsmen during October about their attitudes on greater sage grouse, conservation strategies for the bird, and on protecting wildlife on public lands, generally. As you know, the US Fish and Wildlife Service must decide whether to list the greater sage grouse under the Endangered Species Act by September 2015. Here is the link to the poll results:
The polling found that: "Over 82% of hunters see value in providing state agencies with a greater role in protecting and restoring sage-grouse habitat on state-owned and private lands if it is a broader part of strategy to prevent the bird from being listed under the federal Endangered Species Act."
