New Survey of economic impact of outdoor recreation in the West

 At the Western Governors Conference the weekend of June 10, a new survey was released: "A Snapshot of the Economic Impact of Outdoor Recreation" in the West.  Outdoor recreation, including wildlife associated recreation - fishing, viewing and hunting - is a very important economic sector.

Outdoor recreation spending equals $255.6 billion in the West and creates 2.3 million jobs.  In addition, $15.4 billion is generated in federal tax receipts and $15.3 billion in state and local tax receipts.
