CWF asks Larimer County to retain Big Thompson fishing access parcels

March 25, 2008

Larimer County is considering selling several prime fishing areas that it acquired after the Big Thompson Canyon flood in 1976. To decrease maintenance costs, so far, the County proposes to retain only 7 of 23 parcels for fishing access. CWF advocates retaining the prime parcels in public ownership and has sent Larimer County a letter indicating support for this recommended course of action . Fishing access continues to decline and these parcels are important.
