2012 Conservation in the West Poll

This 2012 Colorado College Conservation in the West poll, released on January 30, 2012, surveyed attitudes of voters in 6 western states including Colorado.  It finds western voters regard public lands as "essential to the economy."  78% also said there is no conflict between protecting lands and water and the economy.  76% support continuing GOCO funding of conservation as it does now.  In addition, they view regulations designed to protect land, water, wildlife and air as having a positive impact on their quality of life (72%), natural beauty of their state (79%), and public safety (70%).  93% of Colorado voters believe that "our national parks, forests, monuments and wildlife areas are an essential part of Colorado's economy."
