2 bills in Congress would set aside many acres of public lands for logging, take away recreation

February 28, 2016

CWF participated in this NWF press release re two bills in Congress that seek to set aside large acreages of public lands for logging and take away Americans' access to these lands for recreation.  The bills are HR 3650 and HR 2316.

In contrast, Coloradans are pushing to create an annual celebration of the benefits of public lands to our quality of life and economy. We enthusiastically support the bill in the state legislature, SB 16-21, that would create Public Lands Day in Colorado on the third Saturday each May.  Passage of the bill would underescore what we understand: Americans love their public lands and are willing to make a stand to keep them in the public domain.
