Outdoor Industry Assn state by state economic benefits of outdoor recreation report

 On February 14, 2013 the Outdoor Industry Association released its state by state economic data for outdoor recreation.  It ties to the national statistics OIA released earlier.

 

For Colorado, outdoor recreation generates:

$13.2 Billion in consumer spending

$124,600 in direct Colorado jobs

$4.2 Billion in wages and salaries

$994 Million in state and local tax revenue

 

Nationally, outdoor recreation generates:

$646B in consumer spending

$6.1 million direct American jobs

$39.9 Billion in federal tax revenue

$39.7 Billion in state and local tax revenue
